Our Story
Robert Samaniego
Initial concept for creating a protein drink developed. The idea originated from my personal journey as an aspiring professional soccer player whose career was derailed by injury. During my recovery, I focused intensely on nutrition. Having grown accustomed to high-quality protein drinks in my home country of Iceland, I was surprised to find how difficult it was to find comparable products while traveling throughout the US.
The brand name DONE was born from a desire to help people finish what they started, with feel-good ingredients that inspire you to get things done.
Here I didn't know how I was going to create the formula because this is one of the drinks that you can't make at your home kitchen so I knew I would need the best people around me to create the perfect formula.
Connected with former CEO of Iceland's largest dairy company, who I met at a golf course accidentally. From there, I knew I was not going to blow the chance. I knew I was going to get it DONE, I just didn't know how. This chance encounter facilitated an introduction to one of the world's leading nutrition companies to develop the formula for DONE. The product was created inspired by Nordic wellness and purity traditions, which became the foundation for what we wanted to bring to the US market.
Began creating mock-ups for DONE's product design and packaging. Simultaneously initiated discussions about formula development, focusing on how to balance taste, nutrition, and clean ingredients.
First pilot production was conducted in Denmark, but the initial formula tasted terrible. This setback made it clear that we had a significant amount of work ahead of us to develop a formula that would meet our standards.
Here we began research and development to began comprehensive research on reimagining the brand with a more lifestyle-driven approach that would resonate with the US market.
